Purpose
ReleaseTrax should feel useful and safe for artists, DJs, producers, labels, promoters and listeners. Be truthful about who you are, respect other people’s work and do not use music culture as cover for harming people.
These rules apply to profiles, pages, uploads, links, communities, Channels, direct messages, usernames and any other material submitted to ReleaseTrax.
Safety and violence
Do not post, praise, request or distribute:
- Gore, graphic violence, shock imagery or content created primarily to disgust or traumatise.
- Credible threats, intimidation, targeted wishes of serious harm or instructions to commit violence.
- Terrorist or violent-extremist propaganda, recruitment, fundraising, praise, symbols used in support, or operational material.
- Content encouraging suicide, serious self-harm or dangerous challenges.
Documentary, educational, journalistic or artistic context may be considered, but it does not excuse graphic, celebratory or operationally harmful material.
Sexual and exploitative content
- No pornography or explicit sexual imagery.
- No sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual extortion or sexualised content involving minors.
- No requests, links or instructions intended to obtain prohibited sexual material.
We apply zero tolerance to child sexual abuse material and may preserve and report relevant information where required.
Hate and harassment
Do not attack, dehumanise, exclude or encourage harm against people based on protected characteristics. Do not coordinate harassment, repeatedly target another user, weaponise private information or use slurs to intimidate.
Disagreement, criticism and discussion of music or public work are permitted. Persistent personal abuse and threats are not.
Privacy and identity
- Do not expose private contact, location, financial, medical, identity or login information without permission.
- Do not impersonate an artist, label, ReleaseTrax staff member or another person.
- Do not deceptively claim ownership of an artist name, catalogue, community or Channel.
- Do not share private messages outside their intended context to harass, exploit or endanger someone.
Illegal and harmful activity
Do not use ReleaseTrax to organise, facilitate, sell, solicit or teach serious illegal activity. Prohibited material includes fraud, trafficking, malicious hacking, weapons offences, exploitation, evasion of law enforcement and instructions that create a meaningful risk of harm.
Do not upload malware, credential-stealing pages or links deliberately intended to compromise a person or device.
Integrity and spam
- No scams, fraudulent offers, artificial engagement, deceptive redirects or phishing.
- No repetitive unsolicited promotion, mass mentions or automated posting that disrupts conversations.
- No manipulation of reports, moderation tools, verification badges or platform metrics.
- No copyright infringement. Follow the Copyright and Takedown Policy.
Mature spaces
Mature or 18+ spaces may contain strong language, mature discussion, music-related references and non-graphic adult themes. They do not permit pornography, exploitation, gore, extremist material, credible threats or other prohibited content.
A Mature label is an audience warning, not an exemption from ReleaseTrax rules.
Community leadership
Community and Channel owners may create additional rules, review membership, appoint moderators and manage conversations using their available permissions. Their rules must be clear and cannot conflict with ReleaseTrax policies.
Owners and moderators must not use their position to harass members, conceal serious abuse or falsely represent themselves as ReleaseTrax staff.
Reports and enforcement
ReleaseTrax may consider content, context, severity, intent, history and risk when responding. Actions may include reduced visibility, content removal, posting restrictions, warnings, temporary suspension, permanent termination, or referral where legally required.
Automated guardrails and deterministic rules help identify spam and obvious violations. Contextual AI moderation is not currently enabled. Significant decisions may be reviewed by authorised people.
Use the available report controls or email releasetrax@gmail.com. Where an appeal is offered, explain why the decision should be reconsidered and include relevant context.
