Agreement
ReleaseTrax is operated from New Zealand as described on our Operator Information page. In these Terms, “ReleaseTrax”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that operator. By creating an account or using ReleaseTrax, you agree to these Terms and the policies linked from them.
Our Privacy Policy, Subscription Terms, Community Guidelines, Copyright Policy, Cookie Notice and Third-Party Services Policy form part of this agreement where they apply.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a ReleaseTrax account. You must provide accurate account information and keep your login details secure.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless you promptly report unauthorised access.
- You may not create an account for another person, falsely claim an artist identity or evade a suspension.
- We may ask for information reasonably necessary to resolve an age, ownership, safety or impersonation dispute.
The service
ReleaseTrax provides music-focused identity and publishing tools, including Artist Pages, releases, audio and media, events, Link Pages, analytics, Scene communities, Channels, messaging, discovery and account-management features. Some features depend on your plan, content, region, device or third-party availability.
You remain responsible for checking your page before publishing it and for keeping your artist, release, location and link information accurate.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You must own it or have every permission needed to upload, publish, stream, embed, distribute or otherwise use it through ReleaseTrax.
You grant ReleaseTrax a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, adapt for technical delivery, display and distribute your content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service. This includes creating playback or image derivatives and displaying content to the audiences you select.
For content you publish publicly, you also permit ReleaseTrax to feature that public content in ReleaseTrax discovery and platform promotion, normally with attribution. We do not acquire ownership of it or the right to sell it as our own. You may ask us to stop using a specific item in future promotional material.
Public information and imports
If you request automatic page creation, you instruct ReleaseTrax to examine the public artist links you submit and to prepare a draft using automated tools and third-party services. Imported information may be incomplete, outdated or match the wrong artist. You must review it before publication.
ReleaseTrax does not guarantee that an imported biography, catalogue, genre, location, artwork, media item or release record is accurate or that you hold rights to use it. More detail appears in our Third-Party Services and Automatic Import Policy.
Communities and conduct
Public, members-only and private spaces remain subject to the Community Guidelines. Mature or 18+ labels permit limited mature discussion and non-graphic themes; they do not permit illegal, exploitative, extremist, threatening or graphically violent content.
Community and Channel owners may establish additional rules and moderate their spaces, but they may not override ReleaseTrax policies.
Subscriptions
Free, Plus, Premier, Early Access and Upload Boost terms are set out in the Subscription, Billing and Early Access Terms. Paid subscriptions renew until cancelled. A paid subscription starts only after you deliberately complete a paid checkout.
Enforcement and termination
We may remove or restrict content, limit features, suspend accounts or terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect people or the platform, respond to legal obligations, prevent fraud or address serious service misuse.
Where appropriate, we may warn you, explain an enforcement decision or provide an appeal route. Urgent safety, legal or security action may occur without advance notice. You may stop using ReleaseTrax at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.
Availability and changes
ReleaseTrax is under active development. We may add, change, pause or retire features and may perform maintenance. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability, permanent preservation of user content, or continued availability of a third-party embed, API or platform.
We may update these Terms. We will give reasonable notice of material changes and request renewed acceptance where required.
Responsibility and liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable consumer guarantees. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReleaseTrax is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost opportunity, third-party conduct, external services, or losses caused by content you publish or instructions you give.
Where liability may lawfully be limited, ReleaseTrax’s total liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid ReleaseTrax during the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.
You are responsible for reasonable losses or claims caused by your unlawful content, infringement of another person’s rights, or material breach of these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by New Zealand law. You and ReleaseTrax submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand courts and tribunals. Mandatory rights available to consumers in their home jurisdiction are not displaced where applicable law does not allow that.
