Respecting rights
You may upload or link to material only when you own it, have permission, or are otherwise legally entitled to use it. This includes recordings, compositions, masters, artwork, photographs, videos, logos, biographies and embedded media.
Linking to an external platform does not itself grant permission. Embedded content also remains subject to the originating platform’s rules.
Submitting a notice
If you believe content on ReleaseTrax infringes your rights, email releasetrax@gmail.com with:
- Your full name and reliable contact information.
- Identification of the copyrighted work or other right concerned.
- The exact ReleaseTrax URL and a clear description of the material.
- An explanation of why the use is unauthorised.
- A statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Knowingly making a false or misleading claim may create legal liability.
What happens next
We may request missing information, restrict or remove the reported material, preserve relevant records, and notify the account holder. We may provide the account holder with enough of the notice—including claimant information—to understand and respond to the allegation.
Urgent or clearly unlawful material may be restricted before the review is complete. A takedown is not a final court determination about ownership.
Responding to a notice
If your material was restricted by mistake or misidentification, you may respond with:
- Your name, account email and the affected ReleaseTrax URL.
- The removed material and why you believe you may lawfully use it.
- Relevant licences, ownership records, permissions or other evidence.
- A statement that your response is accurate and made in good faith.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We may forward the response to the claimant and may restore material when appropriate, unless a legal process or continuing risk prevents restoration.
Repeat infringement
ReleaseTrax may restrict or terminate accounts that repeatedly or seriously infringe intellectual-property rights. We consider the reliability and outcome of notices, counter-notices, account history and evidence of deliberate abuse.
Artist identity disputes
If two people claim the same Artist Page, artist name or catalogue, we may temporarily limit changes while reviewing evidence. Useful evidence can include official platform profiles, label or distributor records, release metadata, domain control, contracts or direct confirmation from recognised rights holders.
Verification badges do not transfer copyright or settle ownership disputes.
